Golden Road Vineyards

Tucked along its namesake road with a stunning backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Golden Road Vineyards Tasting Room offers a cozy atmosphere, complete with warm wood accents. Just around the corner from Chestnut Branch Farm and Cabin, it features an outdoor tasting area with multiple fire pits, making it a perfect spot for guests to unwind and enjoy local wines and music while taking in the scenic beauty of the area.

Jones von Drehle Vineyards

Jones von Drehle Vineyards and Winery, a family-owned business in Thurmond, North Carolina – located just up the road from Chestnut Branch Farm Cabin. Since 2007, they’ve produced wines exclusively from their 30 acres of estate-grown vines, focusing on high-quality fruit from carefully selected and beautiful location under the Blue Ridge Mountains. The winery also features live music events in an outdoor amphitheater.

Shelton Vineyards

Shelton Vineyards, located outside of Dobson, North Carolina, just minutes from Chestnut Branch Cabin. Established in 1999, Shelton is a family-owned winery offering scenic views and award-winning wines. The estate spans 300 acres of vineyards, a beautiful Tuscany style winery and tasting rooms that produce a variety of wines. The winery hosts live music events as well as Harvest Grill restaurant.

Grassy Creek Vineyard & Winery

On the way to Elkin from Chestnut Branch Cabin, Grassy Creek Vineyard & Winery blends a passion for wine with local history. Housed in a historic dairy barn, the winery offers excellent wines, a charming tasting room and patio, scenic hiking trails, and views of Carter Falls, all set amidst the beautiful Grassy Creek property.

Adagio Vineyards

Adagio winery and vineyards features a spacious tasting room located above the 3,000-square-foot underground winery. The tasting room itself combines rustic elegance with three distinct tasting bars: a large, curved stand-up bar, a sit-down kitchen bar, and a violin showcase bar. Adagio operates two vineyards: a six-acre site about a mile from the winery, and a smaller three-quarter acre vineyard surrounding the facility.

Christian Paul Vineyards

Christian Paul Vineyards continues a long tradition of winemaking by the Ercolani family in the Tuscany and Umbria regions of Italy. Serre Vineyards

Serre Vineyards opened its tasting room on September 24, 2020. Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the 70-acre vineyard offers a relaxing environment with stunning mountain views. Visitors can enjoy small-production, vineyard-designated wines that reflect the valley’s unique terrior, either in the tasting room or while exploring the property. Bring a picnic basket, or enjoy pre-made charcuterie available onsite.

Carolina Heritage Winery

Carolina Heritage Vineyards, a certified organic winery in North Carolina’s Yadkin Valley, was founded in 2015 by Clyde and Patricia Coldwell. In 2021, Patrick and Wendy McNabb took over, promoting sustainable practices with organic wines and unique beer concoctions on tap and in eco-friendly packaging. The winery offers a welcoming atmosphere, complete with free range chickens and their dog, Sully.

Haze Gray

Haze Gray Vineyards, located on an 85-acre former farm near Dobson, is owned by Deane and Becky Muhlenberg, both with strong military ties. The vineyard grows nine grape varietals on nine acres and is certified as a Homegrown by Heroes farm. The tasting room honors military service, showcasing photos of the Muhlenberg family’s eight generations of service.

Round Peak Vineyards

Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Mount Airy, NC, this beautiful 32-acre property in the Yadkin Valley AVA (American Viticulture Area) sits at 1,300 feet. Round Peak Vineyards crafts high-quality dry red and white wines from 12 acres of French and Italian grape varieties under the Round Peak brand. They also produce sweeter wines, cider, mead, and beer under the Skull Camp brand, and also feature a 9-hole disc golf course.

Old North State Winery, founded in 2002 by Ben Webb in Mt. Airy, NC, blends a passion for viticulture, technology, and community. Frank and Lenna Hobson transitioned their century-old family farm in Yadkin Valley to a winery in 2002, after the decline of tobacco farming. Named after Frank’s championship 4-H calf, RagApple Lassie, the winery features unique architecture designed by UNC Charlotte students. It includes an underground wine cellar, a mural, and a catwalk showcasing the vineyard’s year-round activities.

Midnight Magdalena

Midnight Magdalena Vineyards is a family-owned vineyard in North Carolina’s Swan Creek AVA. Piccione Vineyards

In 1921, Giuseppe Piccione immigrated to America from Sicily, settling in Brooklyn. His grandson, Dr. William Piccione, became a Harvard-trained surgeon, cherishing memories of his grandfather’s winemaking. Inspired by his heritage, Bill earned Italian citizenship and sommelier certification. In 2010, he founded Piccione Vineyards in North Carolina’s Swan Creek AVA to continue the family’s winemaking tradition.
